Refractive errors may not be addressed for a variety of reasons, including lack of awareness by the individual or their family, children not realizing they aren’t seeing clearly, limited availability or affordability of refractive services including glasses and cultural stigmas that discourage the use of glasses.
Children School Screening
Camp organizers play an important role and oversee all activities right from crowd management to the transportation of patients in need of cataract surgery to the base hospital. The organizer also works with the medical team to ensure that the required medicines, instruments, spectacles grinding sets and frames are transported to the camp site.
Cataract Camp
The primary purpose of the outreach is to identify patients’ of curable blindness. The outreach program focuses mainly on making eye care facilities accessible to many poor patients as well as overall who cannot afford eye care due to their small budgets. It also focuses on making eye care available for isolated communities, which were suffer from poor infrastructure, and a low-density population, which prohibits the lack of eye awareness and facilities.
Presbyopia Camp
Presbyopia describes an age-related condition similar to farsightedness. It typically becomes noticeable around age 45. In children and young adults, the lens inside the eye can easily focus on distant and near objects. With age, the lens loses its ability to focus on items close to the eyes. Although presbyopia is not completely understood, experts think that the lens and its supporting structures lose the ability to change shape or make the lens longer during close vision efforts.
Trucker Camp on Toll
